About

I have a habit of placing myself in unfamiliar surroundings and figuring out how to make meaningful connections while serving others.

As an educator, I have worked everywhere from rural Missouri to the mountains of Colorado. My passion for serving students at risk even brought me to the Peace Corps, where I volunteered in Tunisia. My varied experiences at times felt disconnected — until I realized that the thread that connected my journey was a knack for connecting with others.

education

As a psychotherapist, I first saw patients at the Wakonda Center, a free mental health clinic founded by Dr. John Small and Janette Parker LPC. I then moved to Great Circle, where I provided therapy to adolescent females with complex mental health issues. While establishing my private practice during my time off, I worked full time at Valley Hope, a residential addiction treatment center. Today, I work exclusively through Snyder Counseling.

my experience

At Snyder Counseling, I work collaboratively with clients — individuals and families — to find effective solutions to the life concerns that bring people to therapy. I am committed to assisting clients move in the direction that they choose. My approach is direct, respectful, optimistic and pragmatic, a style I developed through my years of varied experience.
